Bio-Foam MAX from Fluval has been specially developed for the powerful external filters, such as the Fluval 07-Series. The filter medium is used for biological and mechanical filtration. On the porous and corrugated structure, nitrifying beneficial bacteria have the best conditions to multiply. The fluting increases the surface area by 30%. This also provides a larger absorption surface for dirt particles that clog up subsequent filter media at an early stage. In addition, the structure of Bio-Foam MAX promotes even water flow. Fluval recommends replacing the filter media every 6 months. The Bio-Foam MAX is offered in a practical set of 2 and is suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums.
